What your child gets from Juniors BJJ

01

Practical self-defense through technique and leverage

Kids learn positions, escapes and control on the mat, taught step by step. Coaches keep every drill controlled.

02

Staying calm under pressure

In a tough position, kids learn to breathe, think and try again. They practice that every class.

03

Confidence they earn

Every new technique is a win they earned, with teammates their age cheering them on.

04

Fun with friends

Games, partner drills and teammates their age, so kids look forward to every class.

05

Optional competition

Some of our students compete in BJJ, and it's always optional. It's a goal for kids who want one.

What a class looks like

How new kids start, step by step.

  1. Step 1

    Start in Fundamentals

Every new Juniors BJJ student starts in Fundamentals. Your child learns one technique at a time and drills it with a partner, step by step.

  2. Step 2

    Stay until the first stripe

Your child stays in Fundamentals until they earn their first stripe. Nobody is rushed.

  3. Step 3

    Step up, with coaches watching

After the first stripe, coaches decide when your child is ready for controlled rolling. Coaches watch every pair.

Juniors BJJ classes are labeled on the schedule. See current class times.

Focus, Respect and Discipline

Every class practices the same three habits. Parents often notice them at home and school too.

FocusThinking through a tough position instead of panicking.
RespectTapping, letting go and keeping every partner safe.
DisciplineDrilling a move until it clicks, and earning each stripe.

Structure that feels safe. Clear routines help kids feel safe enough to try hard things. Everyone belongs. No cliques, just teammates who cheer each other on.
